How To Install Camber Kit Commodore
Am going to put King Superlows on the SS and am getting conflicting stories on whether I need a camber kit. Have been told that VZ (maybe VY or VY2 as well) have enough adjustment in them to cope without a camber kit but other people have said to put one in. Therefore am using my ‘ask the audience’ lifeline to ask those of you out there who have lowered your LATE model Commodore what you think. For those who may have done it without a camber kit, how is tyre wear? Also, what about shortened shocks on the front as the King’s catalogue suggests?
N.B: Fit new kit to the inner pivot mount only on VS Series 2 onwards, as the increased adjustment by fitting to both the inner & outer pivots to these vehicles can cause drive shaft or differential damage. Dec 18, 2013 check the tab for camber kits on that website. I think it was about $660 with new rear springs and a 4 wheel alignment – it was about 9 years ago though. Pedders quoted over $1000 at the time.

Thanks, GaryMate, id get a camber kit regardless, IRS cars are reknowned for chewing the inside of tyres and only a camber kit will fix this. They are only a couple of hundred dollars fitted so its money well spent. Both my VU SS, and the old man's VZ have scrubbed out the tyres (NOOOO, not the Nankangs!:lol: ) without a camber kit fitted (both have Low Kings in the rear). Dad was advised by one of the workshops in town to use the genuine holden kit (which he did).
